GATBAWI Cultural Town is the center of Mokpo culture and arts and is an area where exhibition spaces are concentrated. The National Institute of Maritime Cultural Heritage, Culture and Arts Center, Natural History Museum, Local Culture Center, and Namnong Memorial Hall are gathered under the eye-catching Jabaksan Mountain, so I think it would be nice to spend a whole day immersed in the scent of culture and art. It is also a good place to enjoy the night view of the sea harmonized with GATBAWI. The National Institute of Marine Cultural Heritage, Korea's only marine museum and specialized in underwater excavation research, is also located here. The building, which is built with one basement floor and two floors above ground on a land of 6,073 pyeong (27,75m2), houses Sinan Shiproom, Wando Shiproom, Fishing Village Folk Room, Ship Fact, and Experience Room. On the opposite side of the National Institute of Marine Cultural Heritage, there are the Natural History Museum and the Literary History Museum of Mokpo, Next to the Mokpo Natural History Museum, there is the Mokpo Living Ceramic Museum, which shows the history and current status of the pottery industry in Mokpo In front of it is the Namnong Memorial Hall, which houses the works of Namnong Heo Geon, the grandson of Sochi Heo Ryeon and the master of Korean Namhwa.
