Cha Bum-seok (1924-2006) is a former playwright from Bukgyo-dong, Mokpo, and is regarded as a representative playwright and director who completed a Korean realistic play.
On the wall around the birthplace, there are posters of plays directed by Cha Bum-seok, and on the opposite side, there are singers Lee Nan-young and Kim Sisters exhibition hall.
At Cha Bum-seok's small library, 30 books including Cha Bum-seok's plays, donated by Cha Hye-young (Chairman of the Cha Bum-seok Theater Foundation), the eldest daughter of Cha Bum-seok's playwright, will be released. Literary books by writers from Mokpo will also be provided.
The alley where Cha Bum-seok Small Library is located is the 23rd street of Cha Bum-seok-gil, which produced Korean literary masters such as essayist Kim Jin-seop, literary critic Kim Hyun-hyun, and playwright Kim Woo-jin.
This alley is full of stories of Mokpo people who have blossomed Mokpo culture and art.
The Kim Sisters Exhibition Hall is the house of a painter in Mokwon-dong (Jeong Tae-gwan), and Lee Nan-young's relics, which have been held by the Mokpo Tears Commemoration Association, will be displayed permanently.
