The Natural History Museum consists of the Natural History Museum and the Literature and History Museum. The Natural History Museum shows the natural history of the earth 4.6 billion years in seven exhibition rooms including the central hall and the geological hall. Dinosaur egg nest fossils are on display, and the largest collection of materials in Korea including dinosaur models, fossils, plants, insects, birds, and fish specimens, with a total of about 40,000 items on display. The two-story, 1,773-pyeong-wide, collection and display of more than 50,000 pieces of meteorites, minerals, fossils, taxidermy, and specimens of plants and fish that can understand the history of the 4.6 billion-year-old earth. In addition, there is an experience corner where visitors can directly touch and feel natural ecological specimens taking advantage of local characteristics. Currently, realistic content technology is applied throughout the museum. In the lobby of the museum, you can see a photo zone with an augmented reality (AR) photo studio where various living things and visitors coexist, and the media façade performance on the wall of the central hall. Animals, plants, insects, and centipedes, which are rare plants growing in Mt. Yudal, Mokpo, as well as king gwi trees and overgrown plants are harmoniously displayed and connected under the tree. There is an ecological pool on one side of the museum, so you can enjoy the museum exploration contents where you can interact with each other while walking through the pond ecosystem where various aquatic creatures live, and the experience-type AR service that allows visitors to interact with various exhibits at key points of the museum.
